Subsfriend - Smart Master

This Privacy Policy explains how Subsfriend - Smart Master (“the App”) handles information. The App is developed and operated by Reid Talbot.

1. Overview

Subsfriend - Smart Master helps you track subscriptions, bills, payment history, and related spending insights. We design the App so that personal details stay under your control on your device whenever possible.

2. Information stored on your device

Depending on how you use the App, it may store locally:

• Subscription and bill details you enter (names, amounts, cycles, due dates, notes)
• Payment history and amount-change history
• Display name and optional profile photo
• App preferences such as currency, reminder settings, and privacy toggles
• An anonymous device identifier stored in the device Keychain

3. Information sent to our servers

When the App communicates with our backend, it may transmit data needed for sync and optional anonymous features, including:

• Anonymous device identifier
• Ledger history and statistics you sync (items, payments, amount changes)
• Optional anonymous price reports and savings/leaderboard signals, if enabled
• Catalog refresh and aggregate price-band requests

We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your real name or email address to use the core tracking features.

4. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

• Provide sync, history storage, and statistics
• Maintain the service catalog and anonymous typical-price ranges
• Operate optional anonymous leaderboard/savings features
• Improve reliability and prevent abuse (for example, rate limiting)

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Anonymous aggregate signals (such as typical price ranges) are shared without personal identifiers that would identify you to other users. Leaderboard entries use hashed device aliases, not your display name or photo.

6. Retention and deletion

Local data remains on your device until you delete it in the App or remove the App. Server-side history associated with your anonymous device identifier can be cleared when you use Clear All Data / erase flows in the App, or by contacting us and providing enough information for us to locate the relevant anonymous record.

7. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when changes are published.
